The majestic name of the vineyard site is attributed to Queen Victoria’s love for great Rieslings.

In 1845, Queen Victoria and her husband Prince Albert visited Hochheim, and were led by the city fathers to a wine tasting in the prettiest and best vineyard of the township. This vineyard belonged to Georg Michael Papstmann who was later granted the favor of naming the vineyard, "Königin Victoriaberg (Queen Victoriaberg)."
